These funds support state workforce development initiatives aimed at enhancing employment opportunities and services for job seekers and employers.
Key Highlights:

Youth Activities: A total of $936,974,800 is allocated for PY 2025, after accounting for set-asides and reservations for Migrant and Seasonal Farmworker Youth and Native American Youth programs. This funding is distributed among states based on a formula considering factors such as unemployment rates and the number of disadvantaged youth.

Adult Activities: The appropriation for Adult Employment and Training Activities is $883,351,000. Similar to Youth Activities, funds are allocated to states using a formula that includes considerations for unemployment data and the number of disadvantaged adults.

Dislocated Worker Activities: A total of $1,393,378,000 is designated for Dislocated Worker programs. Allocations are based on factors including the number of unemployed individuals and long-term unemployed individuals in each state.

Wagner-Peyser Act Employment Service: The appropriation for Employment Service grants is $667,786,000. These funds support labor exchange services and other career services such as job search and placement services to job seekers and appropriate recruitment services for employers.

Workforce Information Grants: A total of $31,975,000 is allocated for Workforce Information Grants, which assist states in collecting, analyzing, and disseminating labor market information.
Public Comment Opportunity:
The Department of Labor is accepting public comments on the formula used to allot funds to the Outlying Areas. The comment period ends on June 18, 2025. Stakeholders are encouraged to review the proposed methodologies and provide feedback.
