Fred Rogers once said, “When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, “Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.”
In these trying times, there is no doubt an abundance of news and information that increases our anxiety as we work to absorb the enormity of the Coronavirus pandemic and cope with the stress of the related uncertainty and change. Tough times also bring about acts of kindness and heroism that polarize our communities as we work together to ensure our families, friends, and communities have what they need. These are the helpers Mister Rogers spoke of, and those that IAWP would like to recognize.
Please help us recognize the helpers that are stepping up during this COVID-19 quarantine. These may be members of your chapters, colleagues, or community leaders.
To recognize a helper, please reach out to Steve Bent at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thank you and please stay safe.
