On Wednesday, November 8, 2017, at 2 p.m. the Washington, D.C. Chapter of the International Association of Workforce Professionals (IAWP) and the DOL Military Veterans Alliance (MVA) will be joined by Secretary Acosta to commemorate Veterans’ Day and honor those who have served and those currently serving in the United States Armed Forces.
This annual ceremony, was started by the Washington, D.C. Chapter of IAWP in 2012 as a way for DOL employees to recognize the service and sacrifices made by their colleagues and others in the Armed Forces. The service includes a moment of silence, a wreath-laying ceremony, the playing of taps, and concludes with attendees singing God Bless America.
