The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation released a new report exploring high-quality childcare as an approach to building a strong and better-trained American workforce today and for the future.
As it outlines the role of childcare in the education pipeline, the report finds that the K-12 system is falling short in preparing students for the ever-changing demands of the 21st century workforce. Quality childcare, the report says, can serve as a critical step in America’s efforts to strengthen the current workforce, as well as to pave the way for a next generation that is well-trained, well-educated, and equipped to succeed. The report also showcases a handful of examples of business leadership on childcare throughout the country.
The report was released during the U.S. Chamber’s event, “Workforce of Today, Workforce of Tomorrow,” which examined the role of childcare in the education pipeline and its impact on the American workforce. A full copy of the report is available here.
