Rebecca Nance

Rebecca Nance rejoined the Oregon Employment Department’s (OED) legislative team in mid-June 2020 after an eight-year absence from public service. Ms. Nance has extensive experience in state government having worked in Oregon and Alaska for both legislators and state agencies.

Unemployment Insurance policy is of particular interest to Ms. Nance. For a decade, she served as either vice-chair or chair of the National Association of State Workforce Agencies (NASWA) Unemployment Insurance Interstate Benefits Committee. She has also served as NASWA Secretary and board member.

A graduate of Oregon State University, Ms. Nance has enjoyed a diverse and interesting career working not only in state government, but as a: television weather reporter; small business marketer for a video production company; office manager for a union hiring hall; and, client service manager in veterinary medicine.

In her spare time, Ms. Nance:  serves on the board of Greyhound Pet Adoption Northwest, is the chair of the medical committee, and is on the dog haul team; loves to bake – pie is her specialty; and, is a member of two Masonic organizations.

She lives in Salem with her husband, Al, bull terrier/whippet, Dano, and greyhound, Dame Judi Dench.
