New Employment Projections From the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) releases national projections of long-term employment trends to provide information on how the labor market is changing. This presentation provided information about growing and declining occupations and the factors driving the growth and decline.

Michael Wolf, BLS Division Chief for Occupational Employment Projections, described how BLS classifies occupations by typical entry-level education and training and provided information on some typical entry-level educational requirements for high and low paying occupations. Links are also provided for information regarding state and local employment projections, as well as career information resources available from BLS.
