International Association of Workforce Professionals Reminds Administration of Important Role of Workforce Funding

The International Association of Workforce Professionals issued the following statement regarding the Administration’s FY 2018 proposed budget cuts involving workforce funding.

“Federal expenditures for workforce programs are an investment that pays dividends many times over.  Workforce investments help grow and protect jobs, ensure Americans have the skills to participate in the workforce and provide economic protection to the temporarily unemployed.

Because the Administration’s FY 2018 budget proposal makes substantial cuts to workforce-related programs, including a $2.5 billion reduction to the U.S. Department of Labor, the International Association of Workforce Professionals urges our nation’s leaders to consider the impact the proposed cuts would have on our nation’s workforce and the dedicated professionals who serve the needs of job seekers and the unemployed.”
