The IAWP Washington Chapter recently held its first in-person event in three years, the annual Winter Summit and Crab Feed, which was a resounding success. The chapter would like to express its heartfelt thanks to all the supporters and attendees who came out for the event and helped make it a memorable occasion.
Several individuals and organizations were recognized for their contributions to the event’s success, including Generations Credit Union, Ocosta Recreation Hall, Suzanne Ronette Nichols, Cheryl Brown, George Mante, Nelson Crab Inc., Grant Axtell, Washington Employment Security Department, Candela Farie, Donna Glacken, Hope Glacken, Sheila Johnson Teeter, Leah Perez-Wolfe, the Oregon Chapter of IAWP, Esther Ramos, Marilyn Young, and Medra Riley.
The event marked the transition of leadership from Jaide to Suzanne, who took the baton after three years post-pandemic. The chapter also celebrated its 85th year of existence as an IAWP chapter. A moment of silence was held for Judy Johnson, and Jaide was recognized for her efforts in building back the chapter throughout the pandemic.
The IAWP Washington Chapter is open to anyone who has an interest in workforce development and would like to join their chapter. The chapter wishes the best of luck to the area’s small businesses, job seekers, training providers, and community and looks forward to continuing to serve its members and the community.
Overall, the Winter Summit and Crab Feed event was a great success, and the IAWP Washington Chapter looks forward to future events and opportunities to engage with its members and the community.
